
These were in bloom at the Fuqua Conservatory......climbing a giant split-leaf philodendrum......wafting their delicate scent into the humid air......In Haiti, i spied one of these, growing at the top of a giant tropical tree.....i paid a porter to climb the immense tree and bring down the "speciman" for a horticultural exhibit in Atlanta.......what appeared to be a small plant was actually the size of a double bed, when on the ground...........the porter asked why i was so interested in these "weeds" that he had to continually remove from the outside walls of his home.......
"They're so hard to get rid of......these parasites....!", he remarked.......another matter of perspective, isn't it.....
