I saw this ring on a fellow that I met at the bakery and commented on how beautiful it was...He replied that it was his wedding band, and explained that it was engraved in Hobbit language. I asked what it said, in Hobbit. Laughing, he told me that he had absolutely no idea, but he had married a Fairy and the ring seemed existentially appropriate.....We both laughed, dipping our noses into our respective bread bags to sniff Alon's croissants.....As we walked to our cars, I asked what the ring meant to him, since he had no idea of what the inscription said...... "handsome as shit, today..........Gollum, tomorrow", he replied as we continued our conversation through open car windows......... "One Ring to bring them all and in the darkness bind them" as we closed car windows, as I turned on the A/C, the Radiohead cd and my enigma circuits........
