THE VANDERSTEENS

I had quads, dahlquists, rtr electrostats, energy's, epicure sound columns, klh 12's with octave equalization modules,
bose's suspended by chains from the ceiling, voice of the theater monsters (in college), homemade drivers, empire
hexagonal columns with marble tops............and the list goes into dozens...........then i found a pair of vandersteen 4's, four-way speakers...made by dynaudio, with external crossovers....and 4 12" woofers in push/pull configuration.......drive by sumo andromeda amps......but they were sooooooo ugly......even with their "socks" on......so i hauled them into another installation, upstairs,
and replaced them with the more attractive AR classic model 30's.........then, i decided that the vandersteens
were too ugly for my new home theater......and they went to the basement, to lanquish in silence, being replaced with newer technology and more aesthetic cabinetry............i missed the monsters.....so i dragged them back upstairs and used them as stands for pictures, knicknacks and buddahs until a friend decided to
run some wires from the "stereo" to them........whereupon, they sprung, gratefully, to life again, filling the room with "live concert" sound........so, now they're back........wired, in parallel, with their "replacements"....so back to square one.........and i have friends that get entire systems in a single box......
oh......for things to be so simple!
wish i could afford some wilson maxx, series 2's!
