MINSTREL COUTURE
Although it was hardly the
first of the non-Prêt-à-Porter
outfits, because my grandmother
just loved making clothes for just
about everyone, including me....this
was the first of my "designer"
outfits......2nd grade......
i think i thought i was a
"white" minstrel dancer...
I loved satin! there's a
satin Indian Warrior pic
somewhere......a look that
came to fruition 4 years
later, when i wore the satin
breechcloth and a Souix
feathered headress after
having progressed from
Choctaw brave to Chief
of the Choctaw, Cherokee
and Chickasaw nations....
at summer camp, that is!
This minstrel outfit was for
the Footlight Vanities Show
put on by Miss Hazel Robinson.....
