9th grade.....I was 15......Instead of viewing the current Walt Disney "True Life Adventures" and the "Rocket Man" serial.....I ventured, alone, to the Central Theater on the far side of town.......The Central was a run-down old theatre that had been built to entertain the cotton mill workers who lived nearby......all around the old movie house there were churches....which contrasted greatly with the subject matter of the films that were shown there.........This film made a lasting impression on me; and, although i have not seen the film since, i remember details of it.......Barbara Steele, who was...incidentally.... also featured in one of my favorite films, "8 1/2", played a woman who was either the re-incarnation of a tortured and murdered medieval witch or just a scapegoat for religious zealots......anyway...the film made an impression on me......i remember this scene......Many years later, when i read "The Crucible" in college......the image came to mind......Now, stangely enough, I can identify with these tortured beings who bear the blame of Society for it's own evils............ then there was "The Creature From The Black Lagoon"......hmmmm.......
