THE BERLIN WALL

 

I was sorting oddities stored in an old shoe box.....things that, for peculiar reasons, i was not...in the past.......able to relinquish to the trash or elsewhere.....things that look like this! This piece of "rubble' was picked up by a friend's mother, who was in Berlin during the demolition of the Wall dividing East from West Berlin.......someday, someone will go through this box and think that it was open during a remodelling of the plaster of my home........i dug holes in a garden of an old shopping center and placed broken pieces of Mayan pottern in the ground......I wonder what, if anything, future excavators will think of them...On Cumberland Island, there are delapidated walls made of shells.....in a hundred years these walls will have completely disintegrated......will future explorers think that the island had been reclaimed by ocean and re-emerged, having found so many shells at the center of the island?
