my grandfather gave me a little bag of marbles, in 1952. the boys would take their marbles to school, where during recess....they would "play the game" and go home with new additions and losses to their collection.....i had a talent for the game and, as a consequence of this, have a fine set of marbles......they seem much smaller now.......
