$

In 1956, I was taken to this bank and informed that i was never to request money from my parents.....i would be given a set amount of funds, each Saturday, to do with as I pleased......there were no options.....from then, until 1972, i never asked for a cent.......then, when i asked for a loan to help with the purchase of a home, it was denied! In the long run, this treatment certainly taught me how to manage my money......I have never experienced any difficulty with money management......my friends who were given cash willy-nilly, for the most part, had a hard time with money.....as a child, my grandfather would give his grandchildren some coins, just to see what we would do with them......i was quick to invest the coins in items that would increase in value......the more foolish cousins would buy candy, soft drinks and disposable toys.......i still have my toys, all gifts that i received as a child, in their original boxes.....now i can sell them on Ebay for big bucks! to this day, I still look at each coin that i receive "in change", noting its date and metal content....and have separated hundreds of silver coins that have numismatic value......thanks for this!
