In the summer after 6th grade, i visited with my Aunt Glenn, in Toccoa....she lived in an old house with tall ceilings, from which stuffed birds were suspended by thin wires...the effect was a bit goulish and eccentric....in the bedroom where i slept, a stuffed owl with glowing yellow eyes watched me from it's roost on a tall chest-on-chest.....Glenn loved taxidermy! I saw the potential for a career as an animal-stuffing artist......although this potential never came to fruition, i am still fascinated with stuffed creatures.......i had a pair of stuffed white cobras battling a stuffed mongoose, but Mother begged me to keep it in the closet!
