OTIS REDDING

 

I was just listening to "THESE HANDS OF MINE", sung by Otis Redding.....it brought back memories...one of these being his funeral in Macon, 18 Dec, 1967...I had graduated fom college and had taken a job in Warner Robbins, Georgia....the funeral was 20 miles away, so i jumped into the old robin's egg blue 1959 TR2 and drove to Macon.....There was 4 or 5000 people there.....i thought the whole world would have been there! He had written "RESPECT" after all.....his fame really came only a few months after his death, however........I went to Atlanta and bought a grey sharkskin suit with peg legs, in memory........
