a vagueness overwhelms my memory
......... yet, every freckle and line
is melded in reconstructions......... relationships predicated by youthful willingness............and I am again left with the imaginings of silence.....then, in an occasional mermaid's singing...i hear the impatience to depart, soon, and am left with puzzlement....in each is a full-copy of all that was...yet, each, a unique irony; and I wonder if humans can ever touch the within, or if formalized contextual relevance is our sad lot..... our friendships, never an intermittent phenomena, but a reaffirming bulwark to the frail palaces that beings create to hold their hopes and dreams........I am feeling, even more, the desolation of loss.....and seek to unite with remnants of my history, to seed another's sunrise gardens...... the chamber is filled with roses; their fragrance overwhelms me, for what was the symbol of hopefulness is become, as petals droop and dry, a reminder of mindful disenchantment.........and I am slung from weak orbit, into the void of incomprehensibility, accelerating toward the end of days and eternity of night.......I know that these emotions are but the pulsings of Life, as I have experienced these feelings so many times, and have recovered to survive and, even, to thrive again and again.....The ring is furthered from my weakening reach as the carousel speeds to my quarter's worth, dizzying some, like me, to nausea, while others laugh with glee, grasping in eager fingers, the delusions of their wills, departing for the next thrilling experiences......Senses mending, my vision is cast across the shimmering bay, lit by the towers of humanity, ultimately reflecting the dark cosmos..

joni mitchell: THE CIRCLE GAME
Yesterday a child came out to wonder
Caught a dragonfly inside a jar
Fearful when the sky was full of thunder
And tearful at the falling of a star
Then the child
moved ten times round the seasons
Skated over ten clear frozen streams
Words like, when youre older, must appease him
And promises of someday make his dreams
And the seasons they go round and round
And the painted ponies go up and down
Were captive on the carousel of time
We cant return we can only look behind
From where we came
And go round and round and round
In the circle game
Sixteen springs and sixteen summers gone now
Cartwheels turn to car wheels thru the town
And they tell him,
Take your time, it wont be long now
Till you drag your feet to slow the circles down
And the seasons they go round and round
And the painted ponies go up and down
Were captive on the carousel of time
We cant return we can only look behind
From where we came
And go round and round and round
In the circle game
So the years spin by and now the boy is twenty
Though his dreams have lost some grandeur coming true
Therell be new dreams, maybe better dreams and plenty
Before the last revolving year is through
And the seasons they go round and round
And the painted ponies go up and down
Were captive on the carousel of time
We cant return, we can only look behind
From where we came
And go round and round and round
In the circle game
